The Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records can help you earn a Library Practitioner Certificate based on core competencies in a number of library related fields. Some WebJunction classes could count towards these core competencies. Please check with Mary Villega  mvillegas@lib.az.us.  We encourage library staff to explore this opportunity!

Master’s in Library and Information Science: The School of Information Resources & Library Science at the University of Arizona, offers a Masters degree for those interested in a career in the library profession with a combination of on-campus and virtual instructions.  The Knowledge River program for Hispanic and Native American students is unique to SIRLS and is supported  by the Arizona State Library and the IMLS grants. Taking WJ Courses - Best Practices  

There are over 500 Webjunction online courses on a variety of topics brought to you by the Arizona State Library for your professional development. When you enroll for a course, you can take it anytime for a whole year. Here are some guidelines for taking the course.

Congrats Bill!

Bill Landau, Branch Manager of the East Flagstaff Community Library was awarded his Western Council of State Libraries Library Practitioner Certificate (LPC) in June, 2008. He had attended the Arizona Library Institute for three years, applying the hours earned there to the certificate. He also applied hours from other Arizona State Library programs, classes offered by his Library District and municipality, AzLA conferences, and college classes.    Read more >>
